Он объявил, что даже обдумывал возможность самоотвода, но после того как организаторы объявили, что его отвод будет означать полное неучастие Греции, он согласился выступить на конкурсе. "Я не могу предать тех, кто проголосовал за меня",- сказал он. Михалис Ракинцис будет представлять Грецию на конкурсе Евровидение 2002. Он стал первым мужчиной-соло в конкурсе, а также первым певцом, исполняющим собственную песню. Песня SAGAPO была единственной песней в финале полностью на анлийском языке. Лишь одна фраза из названия, означающая "Я люблю тебя", входила в припев. Ракинцис - известнейший певец у себя на родине, выпустивший 16 золотых и платиновых альбомов. Это была его 2-я попытка участия в национальном отборе. В 1989 он исполнял песню "Nana" и занял 6-е место. |
10 songs were chosen to take part in the Greek Final 2002.
Katerina Laspa and Christodoulos Papadimas are the hosts of the show. During the final a jury chose top 5 songs. Next these songs were reperformed and the winner was chosen by a mixed televoting-jury result. After Greek final there appeared some allegations and controversy. Some participants complained on bad sound quality Michalis held a special press-conference. He announced that he had plans to resign, but after ERT decision that only Rakintzis has a right to participate in contest and his resignation will mean Greece withdrawal- he decided to go on. "I can't betray those who voted for me" Michalis Rakintzis will represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest .He became first male solo artist in ESC 2002 squad . He is also the first singer to perform his own song The song S A G A P O was the only entry in Greek final completely in English. The title means 'I love you' Rakintzis is well known singer in Greece, earning 16 gold and platinum records. 2002
was the singer's second attempt to represent his home country at the contest. He
previously entered the national final in 1989 with song "Nana" finishing 6th. |
